Turkey burgers are a great alternative to beef as they have less saturated fat and calories. Place this burger on a whole grain hamburger bun, add some fresh tomatoes, red onion and dark leafy greens like arugula or spinach for added vitamins and minerals. Pair this burger with a side salad and some juicy fruit for a well-balanced meal.
Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey
1 large egg, beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. freshly chopped parsley
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
Hamburger buns
Lettuce
Sliced tomatoes
Mayonnaise
In a large bowl, mix together turkey, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and parsley, then season with salt and pepper. Form mixture into four flat patties. In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add patties and cook until golden and cooked through, 5 minutes per side. Do not overcook the burgers or they will become dry. Serve on a bun with desired toppings. Makes four burgers.
