Homemade Granola Bars

Homemade granola bars are a fun snack to make with and for your kids! This recipe is made from fresh ingredients and contains no artificial flavors or preservatives. The recipe can be modified for gluten sensitivity or nut allergies by substituting some of the ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 cups oats
1/2 cup cornflakes
1/2 cup wheat flakes
1/2 cup mixed nuts
1/4 cup raisins
2 to 3 tablespoons sunflower seeds
1/4 cup grated apple
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey

Dry roast the cornflakes, wheat flakes and oats in a wok or an oven for a few minutes until they turn crisp. Grate the apple and mix it with the cereals. Take a big vessel and add all the flakes and oats into it. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly. Take a flat baking tray and grease it with little oil or butter. Spread the above mix on the tray evenly and press it lightly with the back of a flat ladle. Bake at 325°F for 20-25 minutes. Make sure to stir the mixture once or twice during baking to avoid the granola getting burnt. Take out the baked granola spread and let it cool for 15-20 minutes. Break it into small pieces and store in an air tight container.
