My Time as a Junior Volunteer

During my sophomore year at Winters Mill High School, I’d heard about the opportunity to become a junior volunteer at Carroll Hospital. At first glance, I assumed that volunteer work would focus around nursing and other work typically done in the health care field. This assumption was very far off.

Baked Parmesan Tomatoes

Tomatoes are nutrient packed produce that offer great health benefits. Tomatoes are a source of lycopene an antioxidant that gives them their color. Several studies have reported that intake of tomato products may reduce the risk of some cancers. Consuming tomatoes with a fat source such as olive oils increases the amount of lycopene absorbed.
