Ning Jiang, M.D., Cardiology
Ning Jiang, M.D., joins Carroll Health Group Cardiology with more than 20 years of experience. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, Dr. Jiang earned her medical degree at Beijing Medical University in China. She completed her residency at the University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland, and her fellowship at Brown University Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.

Mahfuzul Khan, M.D., Endocrinology
Mahfuzul Khan, M.D., joins Carroll Health Group Endocrinology with close to 20 years of experience. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of endocrine conditions including diabetes, thyroid and adrenal disorders, as well as pituitary and metabolic bone diseases. He is trained to perform thyroid ultrasounds as well as ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration biopsies.
Dr. Khan earned his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his residency at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, and his fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Khan is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialties in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. He also was named a “Top Doc” in Diabetes and Endocrinology by Baltimore magazine in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

Alexis Schmier, C.R.N.P., Pulmonology
Certified registered nurse practitioner Alexis Schmier joins LifeBridge Community Pulmonology after eight years of nursing experience, primarily in an intensive care unit(ICU). She obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Notre Dame of Maryland University and completed her master’s degree in nursing from York College of Pennsylvania.
Schmier worked solely in a COVID-19 ICU for four months, and she has a special interest in post-COVID-19 long-term pulmonary care and rehabilitation.
