Access Carroll is enhancing its effort to assist community residents with behavioral health needs with a new Carroll County Behavioral Health Provider Hotline that helps providers link behavioral health patients to the most appropriate health services and resources for their acute needs.
Funded through a partnership with Carroll Hospital and the Carroll Hospital Foundation, the hotline is used by Carroll County community healthcare providers, as well as Carroll County Public Schools and faith-based leaders who are addressing behavioral health needs in the community.
The hotline is answered by licensed and trained staff that will connect providers and their patients to Carroll County resources. Providers may also have direct contact with other providers, including specialists in psychiatry, therapy and addictions medicine, who may offer assistance on how to best address their patients’ behavioral health needs.
Behavioral health services offered include psychiatry (adult and adolescent), substance use disorder assessments and treatment placement assistance (outpatient, inpatient, residential), substance use disorder detoxification and medication assisted treatment, and psychotherapy/counseling.
“Access Carroll recognizes the mental health and substance use disorder crises in our community. We are pleased to be able to help our providers and other leaders connect their patients and clients to behavioral health services here in Carroll County,” says Tammy Black, executive director of Access Carroll.
