Celebrating Our Nursing Staff

Congratulations to Kelly Roemer, R.N., named Carroll Hospital’s Nurse of the Year last evening during the annual Best of the Best dinner honoring our nursing staff.

Roemer has worked at the hospital for 27 years. She cares for patients in the post-anesthesia care unit and runs the hospital’s joint replacement class, along with other clerical duties. She received eight nominations from her colleagues.

“Kelly Roemer is the epitome of what a kind, caring and compassionate nurse is. She is an ambassador of the hospital,” according to one nominator. “She loves her patients and that is evidenced by all the things she does for them.”

Another described her as “a positive influence for everyone that comes into contact with her, and she’s truly a treasure to her co-workers.”

Our nurses are such an important part of the care we provide. In honor of National Nurses Week, we have been celebrating and recognizing these special caregivers. Events have included a pancake breakfast, a scrubs decorating contest, a blessing of the hands, a raffle and a dinner.

Please thank a nurse for the tireless work and heartfelt care they provide around the clock!
